The TEUCU mySELF Optimizer Grant

TEUCU is committed to providing our community with opportunities for individuals to achieve their personal, educational and vocational goals and to become more responsible and productive members of society. In an effort to provide our members with opportunities to enhance their lives, TEUCU is offering the TEUCU mySELF Optimizer Grant. To encourage our members to succeed, the credit union wants to award two $500.00 grants to help fund the expenses for members in their pursuit of growth initiatives.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must be members in good standing with The Toronto Electrical Utilities Credit Union Limited (TEUCU).
  • Applicants must be the primary member of their own account, not just a joint owner on someone else’s account.
  • Applicant’s TEUCU account must be active and opened at least six months prior to submission of application.
  • Employees or volunteers of TEUCU and members of their immediate families are not eligible to receive the TEUCU mySELF Optimizer Grant.
  • The TEUCU Selection Committee has final and binding discretion to decide all questions respecting the awarding of the TEUCU mySELF Optimizer Grant, its administration and its terms.

Process

  • All eligible applicants will be considered for the TEUCU mySELF Optimizer Grant.
  • TEUCU awards two $500.00 grants for two grant applicants each year.
  • All prospective applicants must submit a signed and completed application, postmarked on or before TBA.
  • Submit up to a 500 word essay about what makes them deserving of the TEUCU mySELF Optimizer Grant as part of the TEUCU grant application.
  • Applicants’ submissions will not be returned.
  • Selections will be made by an impartial committee appointed by the Board of Directors.
  • All cheques will be made payable to the chosen applicant.
  • All applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision no later than TBA.
  • Applicants who receive the grant must authorize the release of any information relating to their application to the TEUCU mySELF Optimizer Grant. The information resulting from such a request may be used for the grant program publicity or promotional purposes. Applicants who receive the TEUCU mySELF Optimizer Grant will also be required to submit, or have a digital image of them captured by authorized TEUCU staff personnel for use in promotions and newsletters.
  • Personal information (other than the information mentioned above) of all applicants will be kept strictly confidential.
  • Applications may be obtained from your credit union at either of the two branch locations or by completing our application online.
  • TEUCU may modify or discontinue this program at any time.

Personal development is an ongoing journey and the consistent improvement of your skills to maximize your full potential is necessary to live a full and vibrant life. Your commitment to making the world a better place by making a difference in yourself will make you eligible for consideration for one of two TEUCU mySELF Optimizer Grants of $500.00 to help you towards reaching your goals.

The TEUCU mySELF Optimizer Grant is designed to reward all-around commitment to self through personal, educational and/or vocational learning. This grant will be awarded to members based on a combination of:

  • notable involvement in making a difference in your community or in other lives through the values of trust, loyalty, compassion;
  • outstanding commitment to doing good during difficult times;
  • illustrated involvement in special endeavours or circumstances, volunteer service or other special activities;
  • financial need;
  • demonstrated innovation for self-improvement;
  • solid commitment to future aspirations;
  • evaluation of candidates essay and self-assessment;
  • any outstanding achievement for the betterment of other lives.
